StudyQuiz has continued to evolve since v1.2.1. This release combines new quiz-building functionality with a significant amount of work behind the scenes: mobile responsiveness, AI usage controls, database migrations, SEO improvements, and stronger automated testing. The goal has been to make StudyQuiz easier to use while also improving the engineering foundations needed to keep developing it reliably. What’s New Manual Quiz Builder, including form-based quiz creation and the ability to add new questions Daily AI usage tracking and limits for AI-generated quizzes Waiting-list and launch-plan infrastructure Module rename and delete functionality Resend confirmation email functionality Restrictions preventing unverified users from creating or modifying modules and quizzes SEO metadata and sitemap support for public pages Improved Improved AI-generated quiz creation experience Improved module page UX Improved mobile responsiveness across the homepage, login page, dashboard, modules, quiz attempts, and AI quiz generation Improved handling of AI usage-limit errors Improved authentication and database connection reliability Expanded integration and unit test coverage Improved CI support for external contributors and fork-based pull requests Infrastructure One of the bigger changes in this release happened behind the UI. StudyQuiz now uses Alembic for database migrations, replacing the previous approach of manually keeping database schemas synchronized. Database migrations are also integrated into the GitHub Actions test workflow, helping ensure that schema changes work correctly on a fresh database before they reach production. I also reorganised the automated tests and expanded CI coverage across more backend workflows. Mobile and SEO A substantial part of this release focused on making StudyQuiz work better outside desktop-sized screens. The homepage, login page, user dashboard, module pages, quiz attempts, and AI quiz-generation flow have all received responsive layout improvements. Public pages also now have page-specific metadata, sitemap support, canonical URL improvements, and appropriate indexing rules for pages such as login and privacy. Why This Release Matters v1.3.0 is less about one headline feature and more about moving StudyQuiz from an early MVP towards a more mature and maintainable production application. The Manual Quiz Builder expands how quizzes can be created, while AI usage controls establish the foundations for managing limited AI resources. At the same time, database migrations, automated tests, CI improvements, SEO work, and mobile support make the application easier to operate and safer to continue developing. The project is also now better prepared for external contributions, with CI improvements that allow integration tests to run correctly from contributor forks. Coming Next The next focus is continuing to improve the quiz-building and learning experience while developing the account and plan system further.
